We are not Writers, Agents or Lawyers. We are not Directors or
Studio Executives.
We do not work for Writers and we do not take Agents' fees. We
work for you - as an
independently contracted company.
We guarantee that all
Screenplays are owned by dNa or have
been optioned from the Writer, or its legal owner (and the form
of the Option or Writer's Agreement will meet your requirements).
After you find a Screenplay you would like to purchase (completely or just the option), all you have to do is let us know by email - and you already know the price -
because, if you are a subscriber, you have a pre-established screenplay purchase price depending on which subscription plan you have (the monthly subscription plans costing between $500 and $5,000). Thus no time is wasted negotiating for that property you want. You get it now and you
get it for a price that's fair to you - and fair to the Writer(s).
Thereafter, it's none our business if you produce a $34 million
picture - or keep the project on your shelf indefinately.
However, if you do produce a movie, we
retain the simple right to have one full-card screen credit.
After all the numbers are added up, you may find that a
subscription with dNa can suppliment your already existing, Development Staff in acquiring certain niche material.
The reason we can deliver inexpensively is because we specialize and are currently servicing only 15 clients - all strictly confidential. You may say that Agents do what dNa is offering. True. But then is it
not true that you have to negotiate with Agents - because
they technically work for the Seller? In other words, since their commission usually remains at 10%, the only way they can make more money is by charging YOU more money. dNa is different. We
work for you, but we care about the Writer, especially new, talented Writers that may never get a chance up to bat were it not for us.
If you are a (mini) major Studio or Network, we know you're most likely already involved
in this process - but may welcome help. If you're a Distributor, Production Company,
Director or Name Actor, we know you might
not be able to afford to do this in-house as much as you might like. We can help you too.
With dNa you can avoid this - because your subscription gives
you a fair, pre-negotiated deal for
any Screenplay you want from our electronic boutique. You can even purchase control of the
Option/Literary Property on an "installment plan" if you wish and discontinue payments anytime
your production or marketing plans change.
What this all means is this. You get the Properties you want inexpensively and quickly - with no
further money or time spent negotiating or posturing. And dNa will indemnify you - thus,
disputes arising from
definition of producer's net, credits or countless other problems
you may have experienced can be averted. You are completely insulated and protected from all legal liability.
THE DEAL:
For a reasonable, pre-established subscription fee, you can browse hundreds of screenplays we post on a secure server any time of the day or night. Each Screenplay
posted at dNa's site is original and been specifically written by a Writer hired by
the Company or selected from literally thousands of Screenplays we have analyzed with our staff of Readers. We currently have 257 Readers signed up with our company representing a worldwide, cross-section of the movie-going audience.
VOLUME BUSINESS:
Each year, there are over 20,000 Screenplays written.
Unfortunately, many of them are
derivative stories, poorly developed, amateurish or have endless other problems. You know this.
But you also know that only about 450 features get produced in
the United States each year. So our goal, simply stated, is to
search through
these 20,000 Screenplays and present you with producible, commercial
material.

After your Acquisitions People find something you want, the
option or purchase of a Literary
Property can require countless hours of negotiation with Writers'
Agents and/or their

It's a Company policy that our Staff and Readers each see at least 5 movies a week to stay current with the market. Many see 10 or 12 a week. Some of our Readers, independently wealthy, are absolute movie-watching-maniacs - creatures that spend much of their days doing nothing but, sleeping, eating and watching movies. Then, when they're not doing that, they're traveling, watching more movies, dining out, renting home videos, dating and going to the theater.
With this movie-watching enthusiasm, dNa endeavours to seek-out and read every Literary Property we can find - only in this way can we maintain a good feel for what's original and what's not and how screenplays relate to people that like and buy entertainment.
If a many of our Readers independently "recommend" a Screenplay, we option or buy it. In this way we know the property we are acquiring is not only timely and original - but will appeal to your movie-going markets.
Then we find out what kinds of Properties you need or want and we try to acquire those. We can take the point of view of a broad-based audience - or a niche market, if that's what you want. We suggest you give us a list of movies and books you like so we know what your direction is - what your style is, what genres you're most interested in.
Perhaps more importantly, we stay up-to-date on exactly what you're NOT looking for. For instance, no bio-pictures or westerns, no rites of passage, period-pieces or gen-x.
